My Ceramic Pre-Filter is discoloured, how do I clean it?Updated 21 days ago
Over time, due to filtering your drinking water, the Ceramic Pre-Filter in the top tank becomes coated with organic matter, rust, sediments, and other particles that are in your source water but are too large to pass through the Ceramic Pre-Filter. Depending on your water source, you may need to clean the Ceramic Pre-Filter regularly. (This can vary between weekly and monthly, depending on your location.)
To clean it, use a clean, wet cloth and gently wipe the ceramic or the coconut fibre scrubby that came with your Ceramic Filter in the box. You can also use white vinegar to help whiten the ceramic. NEVER use detergents or other cleaners.
You will know it’s time to clean your Ceramic Pre-Filter when your system slows down, and water just sits in the top tank, as it cannot flow through the Ceramic Pre-Filter.
