Why is my Ceramic Filter flowing faster than it used to?Updated a month ago

Your system is working exactly as it should, better in fact.

If you've noticed that your Ceramic Filter is flowing faster than you remember, you haven't missed anything and nothing is broken. We recently made an improvement to the Ceramic Filter that increases the flow rate by up to 30%, reducing the top tank filter time by up to 30 minutes, and what you're seeing is simply that improvement doing its job.

What changed

We updated the Ceramic Filter to move water through more efficiently. Where you may have previously seen a slow, steady drip, you'll now see a stronger, more consistent stream when your top tank is full and the water is covering the entire ceramic dome. This faster flow is the new normal, and it's a good thing.

What to expect as the tank empties

As the water level in your top tank drops and less of the ceramic dome is receiving water through all of its pores, the flow rate will naturally slow back down to around 2 to 3 drips per second. This is completely normal and part of how the system works.

So in a single fill cycle, you may notice:

  • A stronger stream when the top tank is full
  • A gradual return to a slower drip as the water level lowers

Both are exactly right.
